rosecombs... what to do now...

I really dont remeber what crow wing is but hes probaby birchin, if he has colored hackle (hackled feathers are the neck feathers), shoulder, and saddle feathers ( saddle feathers are the back feathers.) I guess I would need a pic to be sure if hes an isabel and you say the colored areas are cream colored then that is likely lav diluted gold so he would be a Brown Red Isabel, ( Same pattern as a Birchin Isabel, he would just have gold colored feathers instead of Silver)

This is Birchen, http://www.bantychicken.com/OEGBCA/vbirchen.html

This
is Brown Red http://www.bantychicken.com/OEGBCA/vbrownred.html A Brown Red Isabel would have the black areas diluted to lav and the gold areas diluted to a creme color like you are saying.

But yeah, either way, if the roos color is what you are wanting more of then just breed them like I explained and you will get the RC out soon.

here's the pair...

he a bit old and ugly, but he's isabel, and she's a blue wheaton that has a perfect body, long tail and everything... i didn't know that the rose comb was such a buzz kill...

Thats what I was thinking too.

And yes gumbiii, He is Brown Red Isabel, nice looking roo. So breed him to his black patterned daughters and you will start getting more like him if you hatch enough.

And yes, I think its pretty obvious that his comb is dubbed.

I thought crow-wing was the pattern of the varieties in the brown red family such as Birchen, brown red and lemon blue oppose to the duck wing patterns such as BB Red, gold duck wing and crele.

Thats true, thats what it is, the Pattern is Crow wing and the color varieties of it are Brown Red, Lemon Blue, Birchin, Blue Birchin, ect... You just dont see them go by the Crow Wing. Some will call Brown Red, "Golden Birchin" and that may be what they mean when they were telling you birchin. But Birchin is Silver gened and Brown Red is Gold gened, and your roo has gold so he would be a Brown Red Isabel.
