Rosetta Quail

How do you determine the gender of Rosetta quail? Their chests are too dark to see spots and so I need help knowing how to sex them!

Search the forum for the term 'Vent sexing' or try 'beer sexing' (find a chair and a cold beer, sit down and wait for the birds to crow or lay an egg). Both vent sexing and beer sexing requires the birds to be 6+ weeks old.

at thirty six days with my latest batch and they're crowing up a storm! No mistake, Barry White and Merle Haggard are boys! Finding that each one crows a little differently so you can actually tell them apart....of course I'm also finding that keeping the brooder in my bedroom means about three hours of sleep every night.....soooooo tired!
