Ok....so usually my rooster is crowing up a storm but he hasn't crowed all day (AT ALL). Could something be wrong? I had a rooster once before that couldn't crow and weeks later he died. Could he have a respiratory infection? should I medicate just in case? If so, what do I give and from where?

Many thanks for the advice!

It's probably because you keep calling him Rosie, so he thinks he's a girl now. JUST KIDDING - sorry.

Is he eating and drinking? What about other activities - is he acting normally otherwise? Is he scratching/itching at his head/beak? If so, he may have something lodged in his trachea (I don't think this is common, but it's a possibility).

Yes he appears normal in every other way. He's taken care of the ladies, eating drinking, scratching (ground not himself). Makes a noise like he's gonna say something but then nothing......

Oh and I call him rosie because I thought he WAS a girl but he was a late bloomer. The name sticked with me and my daughters so we kept it. He is still THE MAN!!!!

If he seems to be eating and drinking okay, and is still servicing his girls, I'd just watch closely for further symptoms, if any. He could have hurt his neck in an odd landing, or scratched his trachea eating something a bit sharp on the edges...give him a couple days - I bet he'll be just fine in no time!

Well, that certainly IS good news! I'm so glad to hear it! Go, Rosie!!!
