I sanitize mine and control as many factors as possible so that I have the best result possible. You can get them to hatch under many different conditions, but if I'm going to keep them myself for 21 days, I want the best hatch rate (and the healthiest chicks) possible. Just being alive out of a shell doesn't cut it for me.
