Rottweiler repeat ear problems

After reading all of the replies I think he is just one unlucky pup and has hairy floppy ears that cant breath probably has a food allergy and also has gnats after him all at once. So I'm going to give him a bath dry him off really good clean his ears with regular ear wash. Then use some kind of natural scented oil to hopefully help keep gnats away till I can get this stuff tomorrow hoping rural king or tractor supply will have it. Then look for a grain free dogfood. I will feed him this for 2 months and if nothing changed I'll have to go to another vet.

@Brittanymorgan1986 I get my dog food from Wegmans (grocery store). I bought a Salmon and Pea mix that is Wegmans (generic) brand. I bought Salmon because Salmon is a natural anti-inflammatory and I wanted it to help him asap. It is $37 for a 24lb bag, which is a lot, but it keeps him comfortable and saves me vet bills.

I will add that my Pitbull is allergic to grass/pollen and flea bites and has had almost no reaction to these with him being on this diet. I refuse to put my dog in a bubble. He lived a country life his entire life and now suddenly has allergies?! We still play in creeks, swim, (watch the water in the ears), and he lays in the grass with me when I'm outside. I do not feed him anything, but his dog food and grain free treats.

I would try the diet for a month if nothing then he may need something more like a steroid or an allergy pill even.

Also look at your dogs ear wax. The darker and thicker it is means they are on the wrong diet. It should be lighter in color and a very slight amount in the ears. If you have too much wax that's also a clue.

Oddly enough, I just saw an article pop up on my google search talking about using cbd oil to treat ear infections in dogs. I didn’t read the article but I would imagine it recommends using the oil topically around the ear canal and possibly ingested as well.

Knock on wood, our dogs have never had ear infections, but we’ve been using it for other things for a while now with nothing but good things to say about it.

I also agree with what others are saying about diet, it’s amazing the impact that can have on a dog.

No kidding! I knew I had this and I was read somewhere about lavender being a natural fly repellent. So I rubbed a good few drops on my hands and rubbed him down. I didnt use much this stuff is strong. I wanted to see if it would keep bugs off him. For two days I have seen maybe one or two gnats fly by and fly away! So anyone desperate for something to try I recommend trying it. Bentley seems soooooo happy. As for his ears I'm on day three of ACV. Giving it one more shot. His ears seem to be a little better but it's too soon to tell. As of his food I'm thinking of going raw. He already eats leftovers and and has been on raw b4. Fingers crossed

All I can say is b4 the oil there would be a swarming ball of gnats following this guy everywhere. Now hardly anything. The horse flys dont even come near him. If you look at the pic there are several diff oils In the o e bottle so I cant say for sure what one is the magic one.

I will write them down and see if I can find something similar.

I am thinking it has a lot to do with the citrus and the geranium.
