She and the Khaki I have, have been laying since March. I collect eggs every day. When I noticed she was sitting longer and longer I kept 2 days of eggs on the counter. Then she hadn't laid in 2 days and since took up her post on the nest round the clock. I marked and put the eggs I had saved back in the nest and am now only collecting the one egg a day from the Khaki.

I have already incubated and hatched out 12 of their eggs in May. I kept 4 of them. I didn't think the ducks would go broody that is why I incubated. But the Rouen seems to want to hatch out a clutch so I will let her try. I am excited and hope it is successful.

Oh, I'm so looking forward to when my girls start to lay. I worry a lot, though, so I hope becoming egg bound (I think it's called) isn't common.

So she's on 2 eggs right now? Gosh, hatching either way must be exciting! Best of luck & I hope you'll keep us posted!!

I gave her 4 eggs but I think 3 are Khaki and one is Rouen. No matter to me who's eggs she is sitting on. So far the hens have done well with laying. Even after I had to move their house and set up their nest box again they were champs about it and kept on laying. The kids really enjoy collecting the eggs!
 
Just got my Rouons last Saturday. She layer her first egg that...and every day since.
He chases everything. Even me on the golf cart.

Well, my duck hatched 1 of 4 out. The other 3 were taken by a predator.

But I wanted to show you the one that made it!! Super cute. The duck flock is Murray Mcmurray Rouen pair and Khaki pair. Duckling could be any combo of those.
Momma is the Rouen

did she sit on only 4 eggs? I stopped collecting our duck eggs in hopes they will sit & hatch. Between the 3 hens theres 20 eggs now. I cant wait for them to sit & start incubation!
