I have two Rouen ducks. We

let our two duck out of their pen for the first time four days ago and the one flew in my pond. So my daughter caught the other duck and put him back in the pen. Then the one that flew in my pond came back. So the next day I let them both out again. The same one flew back into my pond. This time I caught the other one and my son wanted me to put the second one in the pond, so we put him in the pond. This time they didn't come home it's been two days and two nights. I can see we're they are now. Does anybody know how we can get them out of the pond. I'm afraid something will get them. They are only two months old.

Hmm I'd try to entice them somehow. Maybe put feed out by the pond and make sure they see you do it. Or if they have a fav treat throw that out them and try to get them to come in. Otherwise getting in the water with some sort of boat or swimming out to them is your only other options to get them out of there.

I have 17 week old Rouen ducks one drake one hen. About two weeks ago we noticed the hen became very aggressive towards one single hen chicken (13 weeks old) we have. She will grab it by the neck feathers and force it to the ground. We have 14 birds in total (2 ducks and 12 hen chickens) they're all in one coop and run but free range all day long. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem with the chicken being basically attacked by her?

Any idea about their sex? I can't tell by their quacks. They are 7 weeks.

Its really hard to tell at this stage other than by voice sexing them. The females will be a loud quack while the boys will have a low raspy quack. Almost sounds like a wack instead of quack.

The way your describing what she's doing it sounds as if she is trying to mount your hen. Since she's a female the only reason shed try to mount anyone is to show her eyes the boss so to speak. An easy fix to this would be to separate your girl duck for at least a day then put her back with everyone. If she still does it then separate her for longer. If after your 3rd attempt she is still doing it then you might have to separate your ducks from chickens. The reason this would work is because as I'm sure you've seen ducks and chickens are very social and each have their own status. So if you take your hen duck away she becomes lower in that social status then she was before. And if she's lower than she can't pick on anyone. She might regain she old status after awhile and if that happens just separate again. Also while she's separated I'd watch your drake and make sure he doesn't try to breed any of the chickens while his gf is away.

separated the from about 2 yesterday afternoon to 6am. I dont think it was long enough. when i went to check the coop for eggs i found the hen that gets picked on still hanging out by her lonesome! sent her out and the hen and drake started chasing her IMMEDIATELY. im going to build a permanent separate run seeing as I have a separate coop already! will keep ya'll posted!! thanks for the insight!!!!

Poor Lil lady. Glad your willing to help her out. Yes please keep me posted! I'd love to hear how everything turns out.

This is Billie, he/she is 11-12 weeks old. Does it look like a female? No sign of a drake feather at all and no change in color yet? At this age would I see a change? She/he is ALWAYS quiet so I can't do a voice check. Very sweet baby and will still come to me unlike most "teenage" ducklings I have had that go through that "EEEKK, HUMAN" stage
