Rouen Duck thread

This is Billie, he/she is 11-12 weeks old. Does it look like a female? No sign of a drake feather at all and no change in color yet? At this age would I see a change? She/he is ALWAYS quiet so I can't do a voice check. Very sweet baby and will still come to me unlike most "teenage" ducklings I have had that go through that "EEEKK, HUMAN" stage

That's deff a girl. She will stay that same color. If she were a male you would see major differences by now.

3acres, one of my ducks came back tonight. He went in his pen on his own. Now I'm hoping the other one will come back too!

Congrats. If the one that came back stays back then the other one will probably follow suit soon. Once it realizes where its buddy has gone

I can't get my 4 to go in the pond , they are pool side babies , lol . They are so spoiled with the pool. But the 4 new females they like it and will go in if direct them there. Hopin the others will learn they could have so much more fun in the water. :):) maybe I need a couple of rouens to help them !!!

That's awesome!!! I'm very glad to hear that and I hope the other one comes back too real soon! Thanks for the update! Something has scared my ducks I think! They haven't been wanting to go to the pond very much, stay in their run more and are in their safe night houses on their own before it gets dark sometimes???

...I had to direct mine a lot at first to go to the pond also. When I would leave to go do other chores, they were right behind me...lol. Then one day they just started going down there on their own. I think my ducks have a blast in the pond, but it almost seems that as long as ducks have any water at all somewhere, they are quite happy no matter how much...lol. You do need Rouens though...just jokin...

Thank you!  I appreciate it!  Did you get your ducks off of the pond yet?
I wasn't sure if I should let her out of her pen today or not, and then I thought about it. I want her to come in her pen at night and be able to go in the pond during the day. so I let her back out this afternoon now I'm hoping she will come home. I can see her, she's at the edge of the pond.
With your ducks, why are they not going in your pond? You have to watch out for those snapping turtles. Maybe in a couple days they will go back in the pond. Keep me posted.
