Rouen Duck thread

Pics
They can be loud, females at least. But being used to my guineas they kinda quiet unlessI upset my large female. WHo again has moved her nest. At least she stays close to the coop and house with her laying. Looks like I will be incubating rouens rest of the summer

My Rouens are very quiet!

from when the extra white on the wing feathers and their bill colors were the only differences in my Rouens - hen/duck on the top right....drake on the bottom left...my 4 hens/ducks and 7 drakes looked like this.

drake on the left....hen/duck on the right

My drakes are really changing now!

Lol my khakis do that only they do fly. Not far but they fly lol. Make sure your rouens don't fly away they have the potential to fly too.
When I let them out of their house in the morning, all 16 of my ducks sit there and do that...lol. ...it's funny to me. I can't believe I haven't taped it or took a picture of all of them doing it in a group. I suppose everyone's do that if they have been locked up at night. That one in the picture was doing it by herself in the evening...kinda out of the ordinary for my ducks. I got the feeling she was mad at me because it seemed directed towards me....lol. If they were to fly away, I would cry....

Lol mine don't really stand when they get let out in the morning. All 19 just take off running and then will flap their wings so they go faster lol. Lol if only you spoke duck then you'd know. I think mine are too fat to fly away lol.

I got a few pics yesterday of my Rouen male and his full transformation. They aren't the best but until this rain passes it sorta gives you an idea. Don't mind his other flock mates.

Mine are about the same age. Is that one of your drakes in your avi? Looks like the green is really coming in on him too! I think we are just behind ducklover87, with mine wanting to change the slowest....

I posted a picture of my duck a couple months back...I got 6 "Pekin" duck eggs to hatch in my classroom, but we had one "odd duck"! I think she is a Rouen or Rouen mix -- definitely bigger than a mallard. What do y'all think?
