That was one of the things I gave turbo was the vitamin e. I cut the tablet and squirted it in his applesauce in a spoon and stired it up. I had forgotten all about it. I would love to care for him if you need someone to do that. My husband and I are both retired so that wouldn't be a problem for us. If you can just get him to Indiana we would love to care for him.Hi everyone! Happy Friday!
Saw the vet today, they think it's a neurological issue. Waiting to talk to his colleague about it on Monday, as he is out of the country. Supplementing with Vitamin E oil 200 IU once a day, and bought crumble specifically for waterfowl. We are gonna give that five days and see if anything changes. Didn't realize it but "lemon the duck" is also a patient where we went. Lemon is a special duck who has a children's book written about her and lives a great life.
For now we aren't giving up, this little one is not suffering at all, just can't walk. Praying for some improvement just to have a somewhat normal life to thrive. We are hoping the bigger he gets the bigger his duck feet and he'll be able to flip over to walk.
We are hanging on for now, and spoiling him rotten. We will see what's in store for the next five days. We are hopeful. The worst thing is really that I just don't have the time to dedicate to this little guy for FULL care forever. So worst case scenario we try to find him a loving home where he can live happy with a person devoted to his full care, @MissPatty we thought of you and your dedication to Turboif you are interested. Putting him to sleep is not an option for us. The vet also confirmed he isn't suffering at all.![]()
I spend so much time rescuing dogs, who would have ever thought we would end up trying to rescue a duck! Thanks for all the love, prayers, and support. I'll check in with you all later. I'm attaching some pics of the vet trip, and sleeping on my chest. Love this munchkin!
Thank you Feather loving friends!

That is so sweet Patty. That was one of the things I gave turbo was the vitamin e. I cut the tablet and squirted it in his applesauce in a spoon and stired it up. I had forgotten all about it. The pictures are adoreable. Thanks so much for posting them and letting us know how he is doing. He is in my prayers and I'm hoping that he gets better real soon. If he needs the extra care I will gladly do it.
Patty
Thats sweet. Turbo made a little squeaky toy noise. I'm pretty sure he was a boy and Que Sera talked a mile a minute. She peeped and later the peeps turned into quacks.Thank you everyone! NO mention of steroids but maybe that is something he will call us about Monday. I'll ask when he calls. He is in the tub right now swimming with our English bulldog standing watch. If I am out of sight he starts chirping! Patty
I am totally serious I would love to take care of him. I already love him or her from all the pics and the stories you tell. I have 2 dogs but they don't bother the chickens or ducks. We have chickens and ducks but I haven't counted how many lately.I don't know why my previous posts aren't going through! Anyway Patty that is something to think about, I spoke to my fiancé and we both feel better knowing there are other people willing to take the little one. I have four dogs, 4 cats and birds, this guy was offered to me by chance to see if we could help. Being a crazy animal lover, of course we took on the challenge. If it wasn't for working full time and heading to nursing school in the fall full time, with a plan to start our human family as well than I would devote myself to him/her. It's just not realistic. But the thought of him being euthanized is not an option. Not on my watch! We would be willing to road trip the 13 hours out there to deliver if you are serious. No pressure, it's a commitment, but I know how you loved Turbo, maybe it's meant to be that I read the whole thread then heard from you. We are gonna give him the week, see how he's doing, talk to the vet again Monday, and then see from there. It brings peace to my heart knowing he may already have a permanent home if we can't do this. Thank you all, I have learned so much from all of you and your support and encouragement keeps us pushing! I'll update you all tomorrow after work! Blessings and love from our whole crew in RI!
