My 9 month old Plymouth Rock is a champ layer ( she lays frequently every day for 2 weeks or more - I stretch was 21 days and then only takes a day off and is back at it.) the last few days has had eggs that are different. The first day the egg felt rough, like dried sand feel to the shell. Then today is was more speckled than normal and the shell felt rough. Is she lacking something?
We use layer pellet feed, scratch broadcasted, and food scraps ( fruit and veggies on good list of things to feed them)
We have a bluff Orpington that lays 3 or so days a week and hers are the same as always.
