Round Eggs?

I've never seen round eggs and hope I never do. I would think something weird was at play. But, then I am suspicious and "made in china," sounds like as good a reply as any

I'm sure we would love to see some of the round eggs and carton to know who is producing them. Now I tempted to look through some egg cartons in the store.

Chicken eggs. Maybe I should have said 'round like golf balls' bu golf balls have those dimples so that could be confusing.

They are the eggs that come in the clear plastic see-through carton, with each white egg individually stamped--

Eggland's Best were the first eggs I noticed as being round, so much so that I asked a fellow (not a chicken raiser) who said they are probably put in a mold as soon as they come out of the chicken and are gently made round for uniformity. That made sense to me but I'm still bugged by these round eggs which are now even showing up at farmers markets.

So, any more ideas?

I'm curious, did you buy and hold the Eggland's best eggs. They are traditional egg shaped and not perfectly round like golf balls - all eggs will look round if you view from the top.

Eggs are not soft when they are laid, they are hard shelled and could not be molded.

The next time you come across the round eggs, would you please get a photo from different angles and post.

I'm curious, did you buy and hold the Eggland's best eggs. They are traditional egg shaped and not perfectly round like golf balls - all eggs will look round if you view from the top.

X 2 - my initial reaction is it is more to do with packaging causing the appearance of roundness based on what part of the egg is actaully visible through the packaging. Egg shape has nothing to do with diet and the seller trying to imply such would be enough for me to steer clear of that seller. That being said, I have had one almost perfectly round egg this year - from one of my Light Brahmas - and as a group my Light Brahmas lay the least traditionally "egg-shaped" eggs I get with them being much closer to round than oblong. I have noticed
