Roundworm?

Is she molting? Did she just finish a molt? Pale combs this time of year isn't uncommon. Has it been cold where you live?

No. There was a little clear discharge, very slight, back on like January 2 when we brought her inside to observe. This was day two of the pale comb.... so we put the whole flock on Denagard, and I haven't noticed that since then. The other described symptoms haven't gotten worse, but not really better either...
Denagard treats Mycoplasma diseases only.
I highly recommend that you get her started on Corid for 5 days to treat coccidiosis.
Then if there's no improvement, get her on SMZ-TMP; Here's where you can buy it:
Dosage is 1/2 tablet twice a day for no more than 7 days.

She's 8 months old so I don't really think so. She lost feathers from around her vent beginning just after Thanksgiving and we believe it was due to a feather pecking habit from boredom. Her feathers at this point have come in pretty well. It was around when they started looking good again that she herself did not.

We live in NYC. We had that cold snap around Christmas but otherwise it's stayed above freezing and been as hash as the mid 50s.

*None* of the other 5 birds are having symptoms like these and she's really eating much less than usual. Her crop is small in the evenings, and she used to have the biggest all the time.

We did stop the Denagard and had them on corid for the past two days because it seemed most obviously that coccidiosis was the problem, however the fecal exam returned negative results for parasites, including coccidiosis

So keep them in the corid abstract for a couple days... I can do that...

There's no mucus in her feces. They're solid and pretty normal looking which started me believing the neg fecal sample....

So we still don't know what's going on with this chicken.

Here's more photos. Poop, comb which now has a blister kind of thing going on, and some feather loss around the comb and face. She's isolated now because we need a better scientific understanding of what she's eating and drinking.

Again, neg for parasites, but we're finishing a corid run anyway. She's eating but not as much as usual.

She did have her beak open a bit today and was also chattering her beak a little tonight. Otherwise her demeanor is fairly normal. IMG_20230113_221038_01.jpg PXL_20230114_030824639.jpg

I'm happy to report, 4 days later this chicken is starting to improve. Despite not really having any obvious symptoms of respiratory issues, (and certain signs of intestinal shed) we think that's what it is, and that she's become a bit anorexic, despite clearly having appetite, perhaps because it makes her uncomfortable to eat?

Anyway, we've got her back on Denagard, spent some time spoon feeding it to her and her color and comb are already showing great improvement. She's beginning to take food and water in her own, now. We'll keep monitoring her for at least another day or two, though.

She's had plenty of energy and spunk throughout, so we're hoping for a quick recovery.

Chickens are weird, man.

Thanks for all the help and insight!
