I've never had babies, so I don't know if this coloring is normal. It seems to have the markings of a Royal Palm, but they are brown. I'm starting to see some black edges now, but not a lot. Also wonder about the sex. It's about 3 months old.

Hard to tell for sure from that one picture but if the pattern is palm the color would make this a red palm. Chocolate palms have much darker distinctly brown markings.

I'll try to get more pictures. It's pretty hard to take pictures of that show the markings. They are very light brown, lighter than the photo shows. Can this color come from Royal Palms? I got the eggs as Royal Palms but only had one hatch.

Looks more like a red gene to me. Maybe it will be tri color like a sweet grass. Because you see black edges it cannot be the brown gene. Brown is a dilute of black. If the brown gene is there it will dilute all black not just in places.

This is some tri colored turkeys. The first two carry a dilute (blue) gene also. The tri colors can vary alot in the amount of color that they have. Some can be vary minimal and some vary dark. I give a few examples.

These guys are just babies. They don't have there true colors yet.

Also this red turkey is not a tri color but reminded me of your turkey.
