Royal Palm Turkey

my royal palm hen at 8 months, her black feathers started coming out when the feathers started coming in after they lost the baby fuzz.

Nice looking bird.

As we just moved them I have a pretty good idea on the weights and the tom is every bit of 20+ pounds and the hens are around 12-15 pounds. So maybe yall are right and they are not what I ordered but I dont think they are midget whites either so now I guess I am going back to the hatchery site to see what else they could have shipped.

I have some RP poults that are about a month old who have black lines beginning to show on their wings and backs. Here is a pic of a couple of 2 month old Royal Palms from last year.

My Royal Palm poult has both black and white feathers peaking out of its wings now at 2 weeks old. It was yellow with brown stripes at hatch. Those are beautiful turkeys, whatever they are.

They definitely aren't Royal Palms, but I think I can explain what might have happened. Alot fo the hatcheries order their eggs especially for things other than chickens. They might have been shipped the wrong eggs and hatched them and sent them unknowingly. Most hatcheries do not keep their own breeding stock. I know Cackle Hatchery doesn't.
But at the least they are nice healthy looking turkeys!

I have a baby turkey that is still kinda yellow but got its white wing feathers with black on it allready..its first real feathers. He/she is a Royal Palm turkey..so yours should have at least some black on it.

regardless, yours are gorgeous eitherway.

Not sure on his/her age.. very young I guess.. one sec..uploading a pic..

I think its way younger than that tho.. still kinda wobbly and not much going on in the brain department.

But you can see how it has some black spots on its feathers allready and its not fully feathered out.

Jesshh ..I need to sweep and dust that room.... eeek
