Ms Mel....Oldhen is right! Turkeys ARE smart. They bond strongly with humans. You'll love them!

They arnt very smart when they hatch I had to force feed them the first week of life because they wouldn't eat.

I just go in by them a few times a day and tap my finger and peep, they peck where I tap, eventually they learn. Shiny glass rocks will help draw their attention to the food and water.

Oldhen, thanks for the tip Unfortunately we only got one chick. The other one didn't make it. There is no action with the others. Question, what happens if this little fella is alone? Do I get a few chicken chicks? more turkey eggs?

It will need somebody for company, turkeys get lonely. If you can get another poult that's best but a few chicks will work if necessary. Maybe some chicks for company until you get more eggs or poults.

They got the point a few days into he second week of life but they are feathering out now and flying. And perfectly healthy
