Rubbermaid tot

Based it on the one named "My Brooder Box" in the coop designs section of BYC. I will get pics up when I can. Just started painting frame now and going with plexiglas sides and front instead of wire to hopefully keep it a little warmer and keep the grand-daughters fingers and items out of it. Thanks for everyones input.

Brooder pics after painting and awaiting top/sides and trim. more pics to come.

The totes are TOO small for chicks for more than a week so don't waste your money...just make a nice size brooder that they can stay in for a good while. Use a BIG cardboard box with newspaper on the bottom and pine shavings on top of that. Easy to clean out, cheap or free and easy to throw away! You can go to any big store or anywhere will have big boxes from their shipments... The reason why I hate totes is cause I have seen youtube videos of people use them and the chickens can't stand up straight or move in the tote and the water and food don't fit in because the chickens are too big! Then he slams the lid on and tucks them under a table. So wrong...
