Well, they arrived on my front step yesterday! My two pullets were fine in their box, but a little hot, with their little tongues hanging out. They got water and cuddles and went out to their run. It didn't take long, they were dust bathing, nesting in the sand and dirt, eating, drinking, all normal chicken things! Yay! I put them to bed around 7 pm. They looked ready, hiding under the ramp. I HAD to check them at 1 am this morning, and they were sharing the nest box, chortling and cooing. So sweet! Sorry, no pics yet. Will be doing that soon.

Yay! and congratulations on your new additions!!

Dont let them sleep in the nest box. If you do, they will poop it up and when they start laying all your eggs will be dirty. To re-train them, take them out of the nest box each night and put them on a roost. After a few nights they will get the idea and go to the roost by themselves. If they are silkies or frizzles that cant fly then make a very low roost or just let them pile in the corner on some bedding.

Awww, love the names! Congratulations and, if you're as much of a wuss as I am, you'll just let them poop up the nest box and scoop it out each day.

Oh! Ok Chel, I'll try that. If I put them on their roost, they'll stay? I did'nt see too much poop in the box. Lets just see if I'm a wuss or not, Birdlover!
