Rude chickens haters...

Hi there, Your not alone! I put 50,000 down on a farm last year and the guy backed out of the deal----never give me the keys or signed the contract---but we did get a receipt and a witness---So here I am a
year later----still don't have my money back- have a lawyer but it can take forever---and guess what I started trying to hatch eggs in a incubator and I've got chickens----well 2 weeks ago my husband's mines closed so he is out of work, his mother was health netted to the next state and on a ventilator, and this week is my first vacation this year and my chickens have gotten sick--have lost two-------but I am not giving up. My chickens is what is keeping me sane! I am trying everything----so if the friends are not so fond of chickens---let it be or see if they come around. I have decorated my coop, planted flowers, added solar lights, and now they come over when they see me going to the coop. This sight has taught me so much, maybe someday I will put pictures on here. So hang in there chicken friend!

I'm done feeling bad about it, another reason we wanted to move out here was to get away from the fake, keeping-up-with-the-jonses types.

I've already met some great people in town, one is a byc'er who gave me my gorgeous girls!

Small town people ARE so much better. My DH is in the military. When we transfered to where he is stationed now we bought a house just outside of base in the middle of nowhere. Our town has about 1000 or so people in it. The family thought we were nuts! I have NEVER been happier. We have nearly an acre of land. Our house is a totally fixer upper that we are working on a bit at a time. We have 5 kids, and they love it here. We have met the nicest people here. I have more real friends here than I have anywhere we have lived since we have been married. I'm 38 and we have been married 18 years.

This summer we finally got chickens. We have 15 right now. I love them! I love them more than I ever thought I would. We also got a pygmy goat named Steve. So pretty much the family is done thinking we're out of our minds and have for the most part been really supportive.

My friends on Facebook tease me but they all think it's pretty great too.

Be happy with your chickens living the life you love. If it's right for you that means more than anything else. Your friends will see that eventually.

i was born and raised in the city

you can go on my facebook anyday of the week and see some has mocked me for my chickens

and to the one who said "its good to have a goal" she has no idea how therapeutic chickens can be so while she is spending thousands on therapy and medications you can relax in your coop and say

to her

i was so happy when we moved out to the country, and my friends bring their kids by so they can see the chickens. My bff's husband has been saving eggs cartons when if heard i had chickens, and now that my hens are laying, he calls to place his order.
