Run Desinge

That's an awesome idea! I suppose your kids don't jump on it when your chickens are using it.

"Hey, mom! The chickens are using our trampoline again....when can we have a turn!" No really! I love it!

It can be a problem!! My older son "hates" the chickens. Luckily my younger son has assumed the responsibility of chicken wrangler. He likes handling them, and he'll put them back in their run when he wants to jump on the tramp.

But when it's really hot outside, I insist that the chickens come first. The tramp has much better shade and ventilation than their run.

That is to funny, but brillant!

I was only kidding! It does have the perfect amount of shade.

I have to make a bigger tractor for this spring/ summer, my flock has out grown theirs.

ya I am expanding my tractor the hens do get to range but even the sleeping situation for them is not going to be good i think I am putting a second layer on top for roosts and such

thanks i think I am going to keep the portable fence because we have kids that would jump on the tramp in the neighborhood.

We were lucky and had material laying around that we could make our chicken tractor out of. It's an A frame triangle shape made out of metal poles and chicken wire. It is very heavy, but I can pick it up on one side and drag it around the yard. I put my flock of 16 in it during the day when I couldn't supervise free range time. Their coop & run run wasn't finished being built yet. Now we have the flock in a 8x10 coop w/ a connected run. The run is a 6 ft high chain fence that was donated to us by my brother inlaw. It's 20' x 14'. I think they finally moved in the coop this past Aug. My flock was hatched on April 11th & are 9 months old now. Good luck! Let us know what you decide to do.

how big would the tractor have to be for 12 standerd size birds They have a huge 150 sq yard that is moved every other day? The tractor know is 24 sq and has six birds with the same size run all they would do in their is sleep I know I need to add an adition but how big?
Thanks Henry

Thanks
Henry

hcammack,

I know you're only 15, so I'm going to have to play mom/grammar fanatic here. I think you're not getting a lot of responses because we can't understand exactly what you're asking.

Can you re-write the question using some better punctuation?
