Run fencing question

I'm building my coop and run with all recycled/upcycled/salvaged items. I have been given several yards of a metal fencing that looks like:

Since I have little concern about predators in my yard would this be acceptable on the upper part of the run? I plan on using wood lattice over this for the lower 1-2 feet of the run to prevent escape.

My security in the thought that I am relatively sound in the idea of no predators is that my mother in laws dog has taken down every animal that has tried to enter our yard. No hawks land, no raccoon crosses and no woodchucks even dare to come in. Even the squirrels aren't safe from him (and the cats!, He's an angel with said cats though.) He also doesn't often come in at night. It has to be storming out and even then we drag him into the house. He's a Newfie/Chow mix and he loves his yard.

Welded wire would be economical and a little stronger than chicken wire. If you don't have the threat of large predators then it will work fine. It will rust over time. Another thing to consider is that sparrows and birds can get in the run through the 2x4 openings. I have used welded wire for dog pens up near the house with no problems (the welds can be broken with some force). I use the woven wire fencing at the outdoor pens (no dog or predator can go through the woven wire). I use woven wire for my chicken run. Hope this helps!
