run height?

Would the deer netting work on the sides of the run as well is it strong enough its pretty cheap
 
You said you have apple tree and want the apples to fall for a treat. I would not leave half the run uncovered because that would leave plenty of room for overhead predators. Perhaps you could take the bird netting and connect it to the trunk of the tree. You could then just collect the apples that fall on the netting and feed them to your girls.
 
one problem we have found with bird netting is that heavy wet snow can pile on it and bring it down

but if it only happens once a year or so it's cheep enough to replace


the dry snow goes right through it, we are changing to chicken wire for our waterfowl covering
 
What I was thinking was building a fence out of field wire to keep out dogs and yotes and wrapping it in the deer net to keep the chicken in
 
Ok after much research I decided to use 48" field fence then wrap it in 48" poultry wire twice to give me a 8 foot tall run then I will close it in with netting how far apart should my post be?
