Has anyone out there "chicken proofed" an entire back yard? I have 3/4 of an acre of yard. I want them to be able to roam it freely (during the day, when I am outside). As it stands, the sides of the yard are fenced with 4 foot high chain link and the back fence is 7 foot high wood (with slots large enough for the chickens to get through and get into the yard behind mine).
I want to make it safe for them. Already today, one jumped out of the coop when I opened to to give them something and she made a break for it and almost succeeded!
Anyone actually have a whole yard that's chicken safe? Or can anyone recommend a material that i might use to run along the fence line that would keep them in?
