ooh yes, good point. Get all the water dripping away from your walls, otherwise it'll still get wet inside.

I don't have a foor on my run but i say it is a good idea.

I wish I had a roof on my run..... it is wired over, but the rain makes it muddy. And they get plenty of sunshine through the sides. A roof is a good thing.

In less than a day, our 11 chickens completely de-grassed a 6'x8' area down to bare dirt. They had a ball doing it, but now we're left with a muddy mess every time it rains. I'm working on getting an A-frame tarp to cover it.

In the warmer months, the birds will overheat if they can't find shade. We dragged the 6x8 tractor module over to the garden to let them have access to a new spot, and it was immediately apparent that they were unhappy. I leaned a scrap of plywood against the side of the tractor to provide some shade, and immediately all 11 of the chickens crowded into the sheltered spot (looked like they were all crammed into an elevator.) If you don't add a roof, consider a shade panel or some pull-down shade cloth structures.
