Coop roof

I am building my coop, and we were trying to figure out a way to waterproof the roof. The guy at Home Depot said we could use roofing plastic cement. I have covered the plywood, but I’m afraid that it could be toxic to the birds. From what I read it doesn’t fully harden, it stays a little flexible, annd in the summer, residue can run down the side. Does anyone know about this product?

It should be fine, it's on the roof. What's your roof like?

Looks like it's meant to patch leaks not coat a whole roof.
How big is the coop roof?

It’s plywood, and the cement is spread thin and coating the entire thing.

I agree with Aart. It would help to see some photos and to know size, is it sloped, things like that.

I’ll take some pics in a bit, it is a sloped roof, high on one side slanted down to a low side.

The coop is 4x7. The roof is two pieces of plywood.
