Garron was becoming disheartened as time passed on by. I guess she changed her mind on seeing me. Garron's eyes closed shut and his head began to drop as he nodded off. He felt himself doing this and he jolted awake, shaking the sleep out of his eyes. With a halfhearted sigh, he leaped down from the boulder and trudged back into the loner lands.
Piper lept out of the undergrowth, Scar behind her. Her heart pounded hard in her chest as she ran as quietly as possible. The wind was for them, blowing their scent further out towards loner land instead of towards the elk.
The herd were alerted of their presence however...When she was about to make her leap to catch the elk, Piper stumbled, twisting her paw on some loose gravel. Her whimper of pain was drowned by an alarm call from the dominate male of the herd, sending his herim stampeding away. Scar ran after them, howling in frustration and anger. Piper cowered on the ground, pain drowning her disappointment...fear for what her brother would think drowning her pain.
After a bit, Scar came padding back, the snarl on his face barely concealed. "Are you alright?" he asked.
"I....y...yes. I think so." Piper lied. She wasn't okay...Garron would probably be leaving now, thinking she had changed her mind. Her paw burned like fire. And she had failed once again in the hunt. Where was the hope she had just this morning?
Silent tears fell from her eyes as Scar helped her up and supported her weight.
He sighed as they started towards Pinepack once more.
(( Timeskip? ))
