Blizzard looked up at her, pricking his ears forward. "What?" He asked.

"I um, well..." Scarlet took a deep breath, and looked up at the sky. "I love - loved, a wolf, and thought he loved me. He doesn't. He never did. He had pups with another wolf, from a different pack." Her eyes were brimming with tears that she blinked away, and looked at Blizzard.

Senkah was thrown to the ground, but kept an iron grip on Lightning's paw.

"LET GO!" Elan yelled, and lunged at her neck.

Wind howled as he raced for her, slamming into his mother's side. Finally Senkah let go, and she whirled around, snarling. Wind tried to roll out of the way, but wasn't quick enough. Senkah brought a powerful paw down his throat, all the way down to his abdomen and opening up a large wound. Wind gurgled, writhing in agony.
