Nikki had tried to jump in and save Aki, but Sitka, who arrived when she had taken a while, dragged her away. Midnight, Willow, and Arcturus went off to fight the Darkpack wolves that attacked Aki, while Nikki tried to give Lightning the reed. She pried open Lightning's mouth and put it down her throat, "I just hope we weren't too late," she murmured.

"What are you doing here?" Atra snarled, leaping in front of them.

Mystery heard the commotion and, although Atra had told her to stay put, she couldn't. She stayed hidden and crept toward the sounds of battle. She saw stonepack, the pack she was leaving, would Atra think she had tried to trap them. She whined and hid in the shadows.

Shadow went back to the farm the next day with tigger, this time the sun was gone, the wind picked up as they aproached, and the chickens where shut out the coop, as is a meal was laid. they snuck under the fence and ran for the chickens, as they aproached tigger caught sight of a man with a gun, "its a trap" he yeld but to late, the gun went of and shadow fell to the floor. tigger rushed over, "dad, dad" he whimpered
"go, go, thats an order" said shadow.
tigger turned and ran back to the pack,
"wheres shadow?" asked renn
"a man shot him" whimpered tigger, and he slunk back into his den.
Renn gasped

Man while, the man had penned shadow in a barn and had called the forestry comision to come and relocate him, shadow just sat waiting, licking his wounded leg
