"Nu-uh!" Faolen yipped, and leaped at him brother.
Summer growled playfully, and charged after her sister. "You can try and run, but you cant outrun me!" She yipped.
Mari smiled, but her emotions were bitter sweet. Why did you leave me Aki? She wondered. I don't understand. She sat down, and watched her pups - who had never seen their father - play happily.

Tala yelped and ran at her sister. "But I can get you!" She jumped playfully at summer.
Gray yapped and yanked on his borther's ear. "I will win." He growled.


Aki stood on the ridge of a mountain, over looking his home, he sighed. He knew why he had left, he had resented Nike for taking the alpha male spot. He had still been feeling a deep regret for not noticing that cedar had been a spy. And a deep hatred towards his brothers. He looked at the rocky, sparse forest. "Mari probably hates me." He whined quietly. He shook his head and started the long trek to the dens.

Summer laughed, and sprinted between the legs of Thunder and Mari.
"Never!" Faolen snarled, and shoved at his brother with his paws.

Mari watched her pups with a deep sense of sorrow, and happiness. Her mate had left her, but she still had her pups. She looked out over the forest, wondering if Aki was still alive. "Thunder? Would you watch them for me? I need to stretch my legs and hunt." She wagged her tail. "Of course!" Thunder replied. "Thanks. But watch those two," She gestured toward Faolen and Gray. "They get rough sometimes." And with that, she eagerly loped out of her den, toward the far end of the shared territory. Her and Aki's favorite hunting spot.

Aki wondered over the border of stonepack. He didn't look the same, his fur was stained from red clay, making him appear no longer whit and gray. He slowly inched closer to the dens, he could hear the pack. But now realized he didn't even smell like the pack anymore, he smelled like a stranger.

Gray snapped at his brother's paw, his lips curled back showing his tiny teeth.
Tala started to stumble out of the den, after her mom.
