"West." Mari said, her voice commanding.  "Ease up a bit." She stalked closer to Aki, and looked hard at him.  There was something familiar about him..... his eyes.  "Who are you." Mari snarled, curling her lip back.  "Tell me quick or you'll lose your pelt." She bared her teeth.

West nodded and loosened his grip. "Speak!" He growled "Now Mutt!'
Aki went to twist his head, to look Mari in the eye and west bit down harder, "just speak! Don't move."
Aki yelped, the pain of an old wound seared as west bit harder. "Stop!" He snarled and snapped at west's face.
West yelped and stumbled back as a small but deep cut bleed over his nose. "A....Aki?" West stammered

Mari lunged at him, snarling viciously. "Tell me who you are!!!!" She howled, and tried to sink her teeth into his throat.

West stared at Aki. The dark black on his back was flecked with red. And his white underbelly was stained redish yellow. 'He doesn't even look like Aki.' He thought. Suddenly he growled, "how do we know your really Aki?" West snapped.

Aki stared at the young wolf, then at Mari. "Your sister name is Sky. She had a pup named lacy."
West galked at Aki. "Where did you go?"
"I had to leave." Aki said quietly "Mari," he turned to his mate. "I'm sorry."

Mari was burning with anger. "No your not! You left me, AND OUR PUPS!" Tears streamed down her face as she thought of the loneliness she had felt. "Your not sorry. All you thought about was yourself!" Mari trembled with anger, and the effort to not attack her mate. "Aki... we have four pups now." Mari said, her voice quiet.

Aki hung his head, shaking with a building anger. "I didn't leave for selfish reasons!" He slightly growled "I left to protect you! I left to protect our pups!" He didn't take his eyes off the ground. "Mari, you met me during a dark time." He thought back to the day he met her at the hollow. "Well, I was cruel and ruthless, consumed by my anger. That how felt when I left." His voice shook. "I didn't want to hurt you! Or............ them" he whispered.
