Try that. Also, since you know where he is, get a few people together and close in on that bush from all sides. You may have to lay down to get under it and catch him.

This just happened to me this morning!! My chicks are 5 week olds. I brought the other chicks out in a wire dog crate, then started grabbing and picking them up so they would peep. The runaway heard them and came running back.
How old is your runaway?

Get the chicks to start peeping.

The chick will move opposite to the direction you are moving towards it. Try getting it between you and the coop and start moving towards him, aggressively if necessary.

It worked!! The chick watched me hand feed the others and eventually walked over to eat some food I left out and I put my net behind him and poked his chest and he darted into the net!

Good to hear you caught him! I was just about to suggest something similar to the dog crate/net trick but it seems you've got everything in the bag!

Nice to hear you caught it. I was going to suggest just waiting him out at a distance until dark when he would sleep, and you could sneak up on him with a flashlight, but the chicks in a cage was a great idea.

Awesome! It worked for me too. I think they get freaked out when they get separated.

Ahh the silly doodle got out again last night! Thought she was gonna die, it was in the 40s! She’s back though!
