Hi! So I have some new call ducks and I’ve had some runners for a while now. I always thought runners looked really cute the way they stand up straight like a bowling pin and I always thought calls were really cute how tiny they are. If I bread a call with a runner(if I could even do this)do any of you know what it would look like? It would just be so cute to have a duck that’s tiny and tall, but I have a feeling that wouldn’t be what I get. Have any of you done this before?

Help in pictures would be very appreciated! Thank you!

A mini Runner how cute would that be? ❤️

I know! That’s why I wanted to breed them so badly but right now I think my Drake might crush my call hen.😬
I would be concerned with that, but also I would be worried about the large egg size possibly killing the small call hen. If you want to breed the two, I would recommend a male call with a female runner. May need to be an assisted breeding. :)

I agree a call drake with a runner hen would be the better combo. Unless you have a call hen that is on the larger side and a smaller runner drake, it might work. I’ve seen some pretty small runners that I think some of my girls could handle, but I would definitely worry about the girls during peak mating times. A long term relationship between them could be dangerous to her.

I didn’t even know that could happen. Does it really make the egg bigger?

OK will definitely be using a call Drake on a runner hen! Will that make the ducklings be bigger though? Will they be small and make it harder for them to get out of the egg.
