*~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Runners spend a lot of time... er... running, and the spray paint will chip. Then subsequent coats, more chipping eventually your drake will have a bad case of shingles. There is no way to avoid this since a duck won't sit still long enough to be sanded. I would recommend using black shoe polish - the real stuff, no the quick dry applicator kind. That way, every time you have to redo it, it will look just like new.

Never thought of the blk shoe polish, I could have done that this morning because He decided to pin one of the scovy girls down right next to where I was standing so I was able to pick that slim thing up[he doesn't weight hardly nothing] and give him a cuddle and smooch. He was not a happy boy though. Tooo Bad Snoop lol

Yeah after picking up Opie, a 3-4 lb runner doesn't feel like much. For me because of my flock composition (and no geese), runners are light. Everyone else is normal except for Allie (HOLY COW, you been eating boulders again???) and she's still a couple pounds lighter than Opie.

Them hefty ones sure make a difference when picking them up. I am so use to picking Opie up it's a wonder I didn't toss Snoop over my head he is so light.

I am making head way, Lil Kate my tiniest Runner will now eat out of my hand and one Buff [Cyndi] will eat out of the container I am holding. It's a work in progress.

How much does Allie weight, I need to get an accurate weight on Opie maybe tomorrow.

Hi everyone here are my gorgeous 3 beauties frolicking in the water over spray whilst I was cleaning out their pond.
Ziggy (male), Lola and Ruby (females). Cross Indian Runners - mother was fawn and white.

They are 9 weeks here - they coming into the end of their 10th week now so my babies are nearly all grown up. They adore and are obsessed with their run and home-made pond. I will try load some videos. Love all your pics and stores :)

One of my girls has started laying! Hurray!

I was hoping they start before the beginning of winter, but wound up not quite making it there. And I'm not sure who is actually laying, but it's only one of them, I think, as I've found only one egg in each of the last two days.

I'm hoping to have an incubator by the beginning of spring to start hatching a few, but until then, yummy breakfast!

Beautiful coloured eggs I was hoping for green/blue eggs when my little babies are ready to lay :)

She's been holding steady at around 10 lbs. Snow was 12 so by Pekin standards (here anyway) she's smaller. I thought I remembered hearing somewhere Opie was 13-15lbs or thereabouts.
