*~*Runner Duck Club*~*

I've screen shorted the forum very interesting must say still a bit confusing but I'll get it when I sit down a read it a few times
just wondering what colour would I get if I crossed the mallard drake with a trout duck?

So that's hard to say - is Trout where you're from Light Phase mallard, or is it the Trout that's chocolate Light Phase mallard?

Either way, the answer is, you'll get mallard ducklings. But they'll be split to light phase and if it's the kind of Trout that's chocolate, the male ducklings would be split to chocolate.

I'm not sure like o said genetics and patterns rnt my speciality I just see them and I liked them is more of what I went of 😂
I've 1 ducklings out from them this morning so I'll get pics of all my runners wouldnt mind getting some more feed back on them

Srry for the bad quality no one want to poss for me today because it's been so warm
But I currently i have a pair of mallard and 3 trout
2 saxony ducks and a pair of whites and I'm hopefully getting a pair of silvers
My runners r currently split into 2 breeding groups and r the only birds I'm focused on breeding this year
Aswell as 30 eggs in the incubater 6 under a muscovy 11 under a hen and I'm waiting on another muscovy to start clocking and shell hold about 15 and I've a muscovy with 12 of here own ducking half boys half girls and all the females r for being kept to clock out Indian runners next year my plan is to keep as close to the standered and try and get more good quality birds out there so I've chosen the natural root which makes it more cost efficient for me
One of the problem I'm having is keeping the muscovys in they tend to fly away when they want to nest so I'm doing a breeder system where I'll have 2 or 3 males and I'll have them in separate e closed areas then I'll move the ducks females in and as the duck clocks I'll have removable nest boxes and move the ducks out into a more private area switch there eggs with runners and let them raise the runner for about 1 to 2 weeks when I can take them off without needing a heat plate
And the ducks will get a 2 to 3 week rest period and theyll go back in
During there none breeding season the muscovy just free range on about 6 acres of land aswell as having 2 natural water sources and I provide plenty of water
For anyone wondering this is just the best way for me to do it and the ducks seem happy and healthy
