I did do changes to mine. I plugged the bottom holes and filled the bottom with water. The top red light was removed also. I honestly thought nothing was going to hatch but it did. Also I hand turned and I forgot a few times.
I think all or most of us started with and still use a foam incubator. I've always had mixed results with mine but haven't decided to replace it yet. Maybe I'll get the upgraded top someday.
An update on Bonnie too, 1 blue hatched last night and we got 3 black ones today. I just candled her last 4 eggs and they gave up. From the smell and look of them it was a while ago. More pics when she let's me near them again. I'm a little beat up from her and Clyde protecting the babies as it is.
Yeah I think as long as you keep an eye on the temps and humidity throughout then fingers crossed. Sorry your eggs quit. That sucks. But yay for the hatchlings!
They don't seem to have any of their mom's color though. Dad is blue so I understand getting blacks and blues, but why no chocolates?
She already has them in the water and dad makes sure the other ducks keep their distance. I forgot how fun ducklings are to watch.
Don't understand the sex linked color thing. Please explain. Does that mean if the drake was chocolate then any chocolate offspring will be drakes as well?
