Pics of my 8 week old Runner/Khaki Campbell mixes (and my 20 week old buff duck) My 8 weekers have a black runner mom and KC dad. I think both brown babies are girls and black baby is a boy. My buff is a girl.
My latest aquisition. I got him when he was about three weeks old and was quite excited when I noticed that the feathers on his back and the pencilling on his flanks and shoulders turned out blue. I wonder whether the white markings on his face will stay when he moults into his nuptial plumage.
Hello everyone. I have a question on my runner. Here he is. I have 7 runners mixed in my flock. 3males for sure but I am not sure about him. He makes no noise at all. The other males have changed colors(except for the white one) and gotten their drake feathers. What do you think? They are 16 weeks old.

And since this is a club for runners here are the rest of mine.
I believe that this a trout runner female. Everything about the colouring is typical for a female, bill colour, head markings and the plumage on her body.
Question, I can add pics tomorrow, I have 3 runner mixes, they are siblings with black runner mom and khaki campbell dad. I have a black male, a brown female for sure and a brown of questionable gender. It is a chocolate brown but not a solid color (looks how a female mallard looks, different shades of brown) it's beak is green and feet are a yellowish brown. It does not have a loud girl quack but chatters like a girl but it is raspy. I am wondering what sex it might be? I don't know how the coloring works as far as genetics go but somewhere I read if you bread a brown male to black female all the girls will be brown and all boys will be black? Any truth to that? Or is that a crock of duck poo? I do not want any males so I need to get this figured out soon so they can go to their new home. I obviously don't want to prematurely get rid of them to later find out it is a girl. Thoughts?
