*~*Runner Duck Club*~*

Thank you for the confirmation. Most places only mention the voices and tail feathers for determining the sex, so, I didn't quite trust my experience :D
Of my gender mixed set from Johnson's Waterfowl it has become very easy to tell the girls from the boys, the girls all have spots and other various markings on their bills while the boys have nary a spot.

Hi all! This is my new girl Truffle. What color would you call her? She is sort of a dusky color with a white neck stripe and her wings are turning a lavender silver color. She is about 6 weeks old.

Pretty girl. I have no idea how she'll turn out, but the lavender is nice.
Here's a few of my crowd. From the left is my Penciled duck. notice the coloring on the bill, then my Cumberland Blue drake (darker head), behind him is one of the Cumberland Blue girls, then in front is my Emery Penciled duck (my favorite), and behind her is the Penciled drake (notice un-spotted bill).

Truffle is beautiful! I don't know what color she is, but it's a very unique and pretty color.

looks like I may have a runner? I was told she was not at the feed store. I am kind of disappointed as I have read they are more shy. We have a Welsh Harlequin and wanted a duck more like her.

If indeed that is a black runner, I have 4 runner hens and my black hen is the friendliest of them all. She has tons of personality and comes right up to me and nibbles my toes, and she doesn't mind being held or cuddled at all.

I finally got a decent pic of it standing up. This is as up right as it gets, it balances mostly on it's left leg so it can't get straight up like the other runners do. I'm still not sure if it is a runner, I've seen my pekins stand like this too.
I took them to my friend's work for "farm day" and those kids were soooo excited.
