Two of my mutt ducks are runner crosses. Mr. Duckie and Dickie's mom is a fawn and white runner and their dad is a mallard.
This is Mr. Duckie at three weeks:
At a couple months old:
And this was around thanksgiving, he was almost done molting into his breeding plumage:
This is Dickie a couple days after hatching:
And here he is around thanksgiving. I am hoping he will get just as pretty as Mr. Duckie did.
I haven't gotten many pics lately because it's nearly dark when I get home from work. Unfortunately, I can't keep both of these guys. I might not even be able to keep either of them. Three out of the four ducks we hatched this past fall were drakes, and it brought our ratio to 5 drakes and 9 females. These two will probably have to be culled
I would rather rehome them but my husband really wants to eat them
