Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since I’ve been on here which I guess is a good thing, anyway I have a question about genes in my ducks. I have six runner ducks in my flock, three pure fawns (one drake), two splashed, and one silver bibbed. I am wanting to breed my fawn drake to my splashed hens and am wondering what I might get. Would it be 50/50 with splashed and fawn or more mixed? Has anyone else ever tried a combination similar to this? Here’s some pictures of them for reference. Thanks!

Hi.

Your "Splashed hens" looks like a Brown and a Blue girls that are turning white because of their age...?

Can you confirm that?

If so, breeding your Fawn and White drake with your Brown girl could give you solid coloured ducks - such as Brown and Lilac...!

...Or even Pied ducklings (that have only ONE Pied allele), such as my Lilac Pied girl here :

(Don't worry about her Calico spots.)

Her bib is not technically a bib, but is due to one Pied allele!

Dad is a Blue drake that carries Brown (and, apparently, Calico)...

Mom is a Fawn and White (European version - these one have NO Blue dilution) duck hen.
