Runner Duck Hatch-a-Long! 2021

Pics
I can’t offer much help on the air cell, this is my first time incubating ducks. If they’re anything like chicken eggs, their air cell grows a ton during lockdown.

I pulled 3 today. Two quit sometime yesterday, not sure why. The other one I’d been watching for several days. Two blue runner eggs and one pekin. I haven’t been cooling and misting, maybe I should try. I have been on top of temp and humidity. I knew 100% hatch rate was unlikely but we had such a strong start!
Oh no! I'm so sorry! What day are you on and how did you know they quit? The one that was shadowing last night is still the same but less movement in the shadowy parts today, I fear I may have reduced its survival odds by messing around with it last night, but another eggs air cell dramatically dropped last night so I am keeping them in the "hatching" incubator for now and monitoring lightly until internal pip... I have my humidity for those two at 50% and figure I'll increase when I see that internal pip?? I'm throwing darts in the dark at this point lol I have no clue what I am doing

I can relate. The way I look at it, if some hatch, I win!

I don’t have any knowledge to offer either I’m afraid :(
This is only my second time hatching.
When one internally pips could you poke an air hole for it?
I could butI'm so scared of shrink wrapping the chick I may just leave him until it's clear I have to assist, but the options still on the table!

The veining had all receded and the dark mass floated around like a blob. Does that make sense? They are very different looking than the good ones when candled. I still hate doing it and constantly second guess myself when I pull them. I have never been able to open a pulled egg either. Day 14 today.

I wish I could offer more advice, but I've only incubated two rounds of chicks and these are my first ducklings. Humidity is the hardest to control, I misted mine today for the first time. I figured I'd give it a try.

For all I know these two eggs that are in lockdown could be duds, they aren't rocking yet and its hard to see movement any more but I figure they may start that later on its only day 24 for them!

Oh I know exactly what you're talking about! That happened to both my turkey eggs last year!

What incubator are you using and do you have thermometer/hygrometer in there besides the one in the Bator?

I have a cheap Amazon incubator. I have two thermometres and two hygrometres. My chick hatch rate was about 60%, but I'll be happy to get 4 ducklings at this point.
oooo I have a cheap amazon one too looks like this
