Runner duck injury

Yes, when an injury first occurs we recommend keeping them warm and help if they go into shock. Supportive therapy, as ducks are actually quite hardy & come thru some amazing situations, if they have the will. Having a friend for some company ( or even a safety mirror) to reduce stress is also good, as ducks are flock animals and can get upset if away from the flock. Little extra TLC and a few favorite treats can't hurt either right?

Sending positive thoughts and hugs for a full recovery.

Thank you! I slept on the couch and checked on him during he night. He seems much better, but my husband put him back in the pen. We wanted him to be back with his friends. The other ducks were pretty freaked. I'm staying home today to keep an eye on things......

Good! As pinoak said, ducks are very hardy, and seeing his friends(especially if there are girls there

) will help him have that "will to survive".
Is he walking ok?

He has two lovely girlfriends:) He's walking around and seems fine, but they're all too scared to leave their pen, even though my pup is secure and no where to be seen/heard. I think it may just take time to build their trust again.

Oh! I just checked and the girls are out having fun. Hopefully the boys will join them. What a relief. We're not out of how woods yet, but I'm so pleased.

Sounds like things are headed in a positive direction and I'm sure that is a little relief to you. Look forward to more updates.
