“Perhaps StarClan has spoken to Feathersky, Owlherb, it Floodlight?” Her eyes shine desperately. “There must be something we can do. I won’t sit around and watch any more of my Clanmates die!” she hissed.

"Floodlight? I'll have to congratulate her..." He mewed absently. "Yeah, maybe." He said louder. "I'll talk to them tomorrow when I feel stronger."

“Yes. But for now you need to rest,” she mewed sternly. “I’ll get you something to eat if you think you can manage.”
 
"Thanks. I'm lucky to have such a strong mate and deputy to count on." He mewed gratefully, sinking into his nest
She blinked gently at him and padded to the fresh-kill pile. She chose the fattest cold she could find and brought it to him. “Eat all of that.”

Brackenkit stirred and woke, feeling nervous when he saw that Lilyflight wasn’t with him.

He nodded, then dug in, realizing how famished he was after a moon of being sick and not having an appetite.

Lionkit felt his brother move beside him, so he woke too. "Where's mom?" He wondered aloud

“I’ll go check on the kits.” She dipped her head when she was satisfied he would finish his meal and headed towards the nursery.

“I don’t know.” His whiskers quivered. “Where did she go?” His mother’s scent drifted towards him and he turned to see her walking into the nursery.

“It’s alright,” Lilyflight murmured, laying beside her kits and pulling them closer with her tail. “I was just checking on your father.”
