*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

“I’ll go check on the kits.” She dipped her head when she was satisfied he would finish his meal and headed towards the nursery.

“I don’t know.” His whiskers quivered. “Where did she go?” His mother’s scent drifted towards him and he turned to see her walking into the nursery.

“It’s alright,” Lilyflight murmured, laying beside her kits and pulling them closer with her tail. “I was just checking on your father.”
"Is he okay? Can we see him yet?" Lionkit was itching to run to the medicine den and see him

Lionkit's tail twitched in excitement. "So that means he's better?!"
“He’s doing better,” she confirmed, and though her voice was calm, her eyes betrayed her happiness and relief.

“That’s amazing!” Brackenkit cuddled closer to Lilyflight. “I can’t wait to see him.”

"Me neither! I'm so happy the meddy cats found a cure." He purred, nuzzling into Lilyflight's soft belly fur

Lionkit could tell something was wrong. "What's wrong?" Why isn't she purring? Isn't she happy?
Lilyflight hesitated. She didn’t want to tell the truth, but she couldn’t lie to her kits. “It cost him a life,” she choked at last.

“No!” Brackenkit exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock and horror.

Lilyflight pulled both her sons close.
