*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

"Well... She was getting old." Rosepaw gently reminded her, feeling awkward and keeping his voice low so he wouldn't disturb the cats sitting vigil.

Feathersky finally reached her destination and looked around in wonder as she saw many different cats from all the Clans sitting, talking, and sharing tongues. She trotted over to an old friend and reunited with them joyously
“I know,” she sighed. “But if I had been quicker in figuring out what was wrong, perhaps she wouldn’t have died.”

Suddenly, Hazelkit was in the doorway of the medicine den. "Don't blame yourself, Snowpaw. This was the way it was meant to be."

Rosepaw looked at her in confusion. What does this kit know about death and the way things are meant to be? he thought

“Then why show me?” Snowpaw demanded, letting her respect slip in her grief and anger. “Why show me things if I’m powerless to change it? Is that my destiny?”

Rosepaw suddenly felt awkward and felt he shouldn't be hearing this, as it seemed personal. He stood for the first time in a moon and quietly slipped out to leave them to settle this.

Hazelkit met her gaze calmly. "There was nothing any cat could do, not even me. Her destiny was written in the stars long ago. We showed you so that way you know what that feeling means next time you feel it." She explained firmly. She let her voice soften as she offered "I can show you what Feathersky is doing right now if it will ease your pain."

“Next time?” Her voice shook. “I don’t want there to be a next time. I don’t want to be like this. Why was I born with this power if I can’t use it for anything other than feeling other’s suffering, and not even being able to fix it?”

"You feel only suffering because you've only ever focused on the bad stuff." She snapped. "Have you even tried to feel the good things? Like right now, I can feel the love Redfrond feels for you and Sunstrike. I can feel the happiness Owlherb feels because she knows that Feathersky gets to reunite with old friends. For once, try to feel the good things instead of focusing on the bad!" Her fur was slightly raised in anger. "And stop being so self-pitying!"

Snowpaw flinched. “I want to, I really do. But I don’t know how.”

Hazelkit scoffed. "Just try, I'm sure you'll get it soon." With that, she turned and left to go back to the nursery.

Redfrond gazed warmly at Sunstrike. How long must I wait before she can move on from Bluetail? he wondered

Owlherb felt a twinge of happiness for Feathersky

Sunstrike glanced back at the nursery and felt a surge of love and protectiveness for her kits and dead mate
