"I know what you think of me." He snarled at last. "I know what everyone thinks of me, but it isn't true. I'm not the one who did that to Lilyflight. I may be cruel, but I'm not a fox-heart."

He dipped his head in acknowledgment. "I'm just so tired of waiting."

“Then what happened to her?” she snarled.

“No one likes waiting,” she sympathized, “but we all have to do it sometimes.”

“Is that a threat?” Flamefrost demanded, sliding out her claws. “Is that a confession?”

“Good.” She gave a curt nod. “Now back to the nursery. You won’t be leaving it for the rest of the day, got it?”

He bowed his head and retreated the nursery, dragging his paws

She hissed at his back.

Brackenkit scurried after him. He had been hiding so that Lilyflight could not question him too.

Lilyflight sighed and rested her aching head down. “I hope he learns.”

Flamefrost stalked off. How dare he?

“I think you’re just lucky you didn’t get your apprenticeship delayed...”

“He does have a right to be upset,” she murmured. “With everything happening, his promotion was delayed, but that doesn’t mean he can go around breaking rules.”

"It's already being delayed!" He lashed out. "We're 6 moons! We should have already had our ceremony! Every second is another one wasted that we could've been out training or helping our Clan."

He nodded sympathetically. "He needs to learn patience."
