Blackpaw saw that the sun was setting and ran into his den. Finally, he would be able to train. As soon as the sun disappeared he fell into a fast sleep. Again, he found himself in the same forest but the dark cat was nowhere to be found. "Hello?" he called out.
"Hello," returned a voice right behind him. Blackpaw shivered at the cold voice. Fangheart stood over him looking down. "Are you ready?" he asked in a voice that could have frozen a lake.
"Y, yes," shivered Blackpaw looking up.
"Good," he smirked. "Attack me, this is so I can assess you," Blackpaw hesitated for a moment mauling the words over in his head and straining to remember the moves Lilyflight had tried to teach him. "What are you waiting for?" Blackpaw launched himself at Fangheart with his claws sheathed. "I'm going to have to stop you there," said Fangheart shoving the apprentice to the ground. Dust billowed out from under Blackpaw who coughed, stood up, and shook his pelt.
"Wh-" he started but Fangheart cut him off.
"Claws unsheathed," he explained while flexing his claws in and out. Blackpaw launched himself at the warrior again with his claws (reluctantly) unsheathed. As the apprentice flew near, Fangheart delivered a blow to Blackpaw's exposed stomach and Blackpaw tumbled to the ground gasping. Tiny, crimson pearls of blood appeared on Blackpaw's stomach and his whiskers twitched with anger. Without warning, Blackpaw leaped again swiping at Fangheart's chest. Blood trickled down from where he had slashed and he felt a sudden surge of pleasure. "Good," said Fangheart slowly and wearing a smirk. Suddenly the forest around Blackpaw started to blur away Morning soon came and he found himself in the small den. Sunpaw was right next to him.
