His eyes narrowed, tail tip flicking from side to side. He leaped with sheathed claws, he knew this was exactly what she expected. But at the last minute, he veered to the right, his massive forepaws knocking her paws from beneath her. He held her gently, but firmly against the ground for a moment before letting her up. He was annoyed that both she, and her apprentice thought him a lame fighter, however, he had spent more time coming up with battle moves than hunting as an apprentice.

Whiteshine was impressed with Nighthowl and her face said it all. "Do you think you could teach me and Sunpaw that move?" Sunpaw was just gaping that her instructor had been beaten so easily.

More eye rolling and then Blackpaw ears started to swivel. Finally, he picked up a scent and dropped to a hunter's crouch. His body moved with grace and strength as he crept across the forest floor. His stomach barely touching the ground. Each pawstep was careful yet quick. Finally, he launched himself off his hind legs almost doing a dove in the air and landed on top of the furry body. He delivered a quick killing bite. Blackpaw then trotted over with the limp rabbit in his jaws.

Bramblefall was impressed with the young apprentice and he said "That was a very impressive kill. I'm proud of you. Why don't you show this side of you to Lilyflight? It would make things a lot easier between you to."

(I had Whiteshine go back to camp already and now she's training Sunpaw with Nighthowl)

“Sure,” he mewed calmly. He repeated his actions, but in slow motion. “Pay close attention to where you place your paws. It matters because this will determine how much time you have to gain the advantage over your opponent.”

Whiteshine performed every move that he demonstrated almost perfectly but Sunpaw was having a little trouble since this was an advanced move and she was only on basic moves right now. Whiteshine stopped doing the move in slow motion and did it almost exactly how Nighthowl did it when he attacked her. When she was done, she turned to him and performed the move on him. After a few seconds, she let him up and asked "How was that?" and she said in a lower voice "You'll make a great mentor one day."

Whiteshine stopped doing the move in slow motion and did it almost exactly how Nighthowl did it when he attacked her. When she was done, she turned to him and performed the move on him. After a few seconds, she let him up and asked "How was that?"

“Not bad,” he mewed, the flicker of a smile crossing his countenance.

"Thanks!" Whiteshine turned her attention to Sunpaw and said "You don't have to learn the move yet, I will teach it to you when you are ready." Sunpaw sighed a sigh of relief and said "Good, I wasn't sure I could do it." Whiteshine looked at Nighthowl and said "Okay, do a normal attack on me now, this is about training her, not proving yourself to us." Her whiskers twitched with amusement.
