Birdkit gulped and shuddered. She ran out of the den and curled up in a corner. Sunshine's spirit lifted into the sky and padded to the stars. "Cat of the sun! You're time is not done." She was sent into the form of a young cat and then a kit.

Batkit nuzzled her body. Emberfeather, Ravenwing, Sunstrike, and Bluetail came in right at that moment. Emberfeather bent her head and Ravenwing pressed to her. Birdkit couldn't bring herself to move. Strikewhisper padded into the nursery and softly announced the happening to the queens. He nuzzled Whiteshine and mewed, "Go and sit vigil. I'll watch Snowkit." He protectively curled his tail over his kit.

Whiteshine nodded and sorrowfully padded out of the nursery and to Sunshine, remembering when she told her to pursue Strikewhisper instead of focusing on her duties all the time. And the time when they went hunting rabbits together.... She felt tears coming to her eyes and she started to groom Sunshine, sobs racking her body

Sunstrike and Bluetail both rushed to her body, Sunstrike started sobbing and Bluetail tried to comfort her.
