Lilyflight placed her catch of mouse and sparrow on the fresh-kill pile, keeping the finch for herself and taking it to the corner of camp to eat.

Whiteshine and Sunpaw arrived at the training grounds and began with the basics because Sunpaw has only been an apprentice for a moon. "Sunpaw, show me your battle stance." Sunpaw immediately obeyed and went into her best battle stance. While Whiteshine was correcting her stance, Sunpaw noticed some movement on the border and angled her ears in that direction, hoping to hear something good enough to get out of battle training.

Sunpaw sighed with disappointment when she realized it was just a thrush and turned her attention back to her mentor. When Whiteshine was done correcting her stance, she told Sunpaw to try and lunge at her and knock her off-balance. Sunpaw sat there thinking for a second how she could somehow knock Whiteshine's paws out from under her, and realized the best way to do that is to catch her off-guard. She waited until something distracted her, then lunged forward and raked her paws across Whiteshine's front forelegs which made her stumble and her front paws collapsed. She stood back up and praised Sunpaw for her good strategy.

As Lilyflight ate her finch, she started wondering if there was anything to do around here. Well, there's pretty much no one around camp, no wonder I'm so bored. There's no border patrols with a spot left, and the fresh-kill pile is stocked with plenty of food. To catch more prey would be wasteful.

Whiteshine and Sunpaw were getting hungry, so they picked up Sunpaw's mouse that she caught earlier and headed back to camp. Whiteshine was giving her some tips about battling when they arrived at camp, but cut-off as soon as she smelled the fresh-kill pile. She raced over and grabbed a sparrow and settled down to eat near Lilyflight. Sunpaw brought the mouse that she had caught to the elders, then returned to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a mouse. Then she proceeded to sit on the other side of Whiteshine to eat.

"Hi Whiteshine," Lilyflight said politely before taking a dainty bite.

"Hi Lillyflight, where is everyone else? I saw Sunshine before taking Sunpaw out for training, but haven't seen her since." Whiteshine said before diving into her food, realizing how hungry she actually was.

"Odd. Do you think that they could have gotten in some trouble? Maybe we should look for them." Sunpaw was finished eating, so she retreated to the apprentices den to take a nap.
