*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

"You wouldn't understand," he said hostility.
"You're right, I probably wouldn't," she said softly. "But that doesn't mean I can't listen. I'm here for you, you're obviously going through something difficult right now. If you don't want to tell me, I won't press it. But I'd like to know what's going on."

"You wouldn't know what its like to see your parents die in front of your eyes! You wouldn't know what its like to see your father get shot by a loud stick!" by now his voice had raised to a shout. "You don't know what its like to see your mother get eaten alive by a dog!!!" Blackpaw bolted for the camp exit and disappeared through the trees.

Lilyflight wanted to go after him, but she knew he needed to be alone. How did I not know this? she wondered. She had no words for what he had just told her. Her eyes were wide with shock, and she felt a rush of sympathy for the young cat. What could I have said? Are there even any words? Should I try going after him? Ugh! Why do I have to be so indecisive?

Blackpaw sulked through the forest until he found an abandoned fox den and settled down in it. He just wanted to be alone and have time to think.

Feathersky was organizing her herbs in the den with Rainpaw when she had a vision. Everything went black and suddenly she heard a voice. "The one with the blackest pelt will destroy the clan" The voice echoed all around her and she couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. It seemed like the voice was being produced in a full circle around Feathersky. Suddenly she was swept back to her den.

As Blackpaw sat in the fox den trying to block out the memories they slowly seeped in...

*5 Moons Ago*

Blackkit watched his mother's tail intensely and then pounced on it. His mother turned and saw Blackkit and nuzzed him. Blackkit giggled. He looked like a different cat with his carefree smile. "I want a badger ride!" he laughed. His mother picked him up and he bounced along on her back.
Suddenly his mother stopped. She had scented a dog so she slipped Blackkit off her back. "Go," she told him. "Go hide," urgency was in her voice and it scared the kit. Blackkit hid in the bush as he was told. Suddenly a dog pounced on his mother. A loud screech issued from the she-cat and blackkit watched with horror as his mother was ripped to bits by the ferocious animal. After the animal had left Blackkit crept out. He looked down at his aws and saw they were splashed in a pool of blood.
Gone. Everything was gone. But blackkit didn't cry. He wouldn't... he couldn't.
